A consultancy with a difference was born

Futurologists think many years ahead. Our founder and Chairman, Martin Newman coined the term “Practicologist” to describe someone who’s inspired by the future opportunities of commerce, yet grounded by the deep understanding of delivering exceptional experiences for consumers today.

This light-bulb moment led to the creation of Practicology in London in 2009, filling a space in the market for a consultancy who spoke the language of retail, while also mixing together the art and science of ecommerce.

Our Story

We think like retailers because we are retailers

Our consultants have worked in digital and marketing roles for highly-regarded retail and consumer brands, so we understand what it’s like to be in our clients’ shoes. At the same time, we help some of our clients to trade their online stores; ensuring that no one in the team ever loses sight of what selling to consumers feels like.

Our digital commerce experience has proven valuable to both retailers, and increasingly brands in other sectors such as publishing, finance, consumer electronics, CPG and FMCG. We also work directly with PE and VC investors.

Our Story

Our remit is global and growing

We go where our clients need us, so we have opened offices in Australia, Hong Kong, mainland China and the UAE; with more to follow.

Our consultants have worked onsite with clients everywhere from Lebanon to Mexico. We have clients on every continent, and work with an increasing number in multiple geographies.

In September 2018, Practicology was acquired by iServe, a US-based business that partners with consumer brands to sell their products online around the world. iServe is one of Amazon's top 10 global sellers, and also works with marketplaces such as eBay and Jet.
