Joanna Perry oversees Practicology’s marketing, research and other thought leadership activity. She spent 12 years as a journalist and editor covering technology, ecommerce and retail before joining the business.

In the last two years of her career in journalism, Joanna Perry was Special Projects Editor for two weekly business magazines – Retail Week and Drapers. In that time she developed and managed the production of new products including contract published magazines, bespoke research projects, webinars and roundtable events.

For Retail Week this included researching and writing two in-depth MultichannelNow reports and Retail Week’s flagship annual pieces of research Retail 2011 and Retail 2012. She also researched and wrote pieces on mobile payments, technology in the fashion industry and mobile commerce, as well as chairing at the Retail Week Conference, hosting the BT Retail Week Technology Awards and being a chair or participant in numerous other industry events.

Joanna’s career in journalism began approximately three weeks before the tech bubble burst in 2000, and she spent the first six years writing for, and editing, magazines focused on enterprise technology, telecoms and their channels to market across Europe.

Prior to joining Practicology she spent a year working as a headhunter focused on senior positions in the retail and multichannel space.

Joanna Perry graduated from The University of Bristol with a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Politics.
