Consultant - London

The Role

As Practicology grows, the UK organisation has identified the need to grow its internationally experienced consulting team. We work with a portfolio of blue-chip retail and consumer brands around the world, shaping and supporting their digital and omnichannel strategies.

We are seeking a consultant to join our fast-paced London office, based in the heart of the West End. Key experience and attributes required includes:

  • Honours degree graduate with one to two years of experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or FMCG organisation
  • Experience of ecommerce/e-retail at a global or regional level 
  • Strategic thinker with a commercial focus
  • Someone who combines analytical and data processing skills, with the flair of a creative thinker
  • The ability to pull together persuasive presentations that are visually arresting
  • An understanding of omnichannel/digital customer experience
  • An understanding of different business functions within consumer-focused businesses and how they collaborate to deliver excellent customer experiences 

Principal Duties

Day-to-day life as a consultant in Practicology is hugely varied. Consultants work on project teams that form, and reform with different team members depending on the scope and requirements of the project. You may be researching the state of ecommerce in the US one day, and pulling together examples of best practice Social CRM, or being asked to improve ways of working across a marketing and ecommerce team the next.

The role suits people who have depth of experience in one particular ecommerce discipline, but with a thirst to work cross-functionally and broaden their experience. Key areas of experience include:

  • Marketplace and ecommerce trading experience
  • Multiple stakeholder management with the ability to influence across a network of people 
  • Project plan management and the ability to implement best-in-class ecommerce offerings
  • Preparation, management and analysis of ecommerce weekly trade reports including sales turn analytics and KPI trending analysis.
  • Complex data analysis and research in a number of different areas, including analysis and forecast patterns in research data
  • Develop extensive analytics tables to effectively track patterns and data through given time frames.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications


  • Minimum one year of CPG experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge of being able to analyse and interpret an ecommerce P&L, and build a business plan
  • BSc/BA degree
  • Expert in MS Office, especially Excel for data processing, and PowerPoint for client presentations

Performance Marketing Co-ordinator - Melbourne

We are a strategic digital consultancy with offices in Melbourne and Sydney (as well as London, Hong Kong and Guangzhou) and an enviable client list of global retailers and consumer brands. Our 20-strong Australian team has a wealth of experience in ecommerce and digital marketing roles and we pride ourselves on the practical support and profitable results we deliver.

We are looking for an energetic and passionate Performance Marketing Coordinator to join our Melbourne office, who has a keen appetite to learn about all things digital marketing.

Working within a fast-paced agency environment, this role will support Performance Marketing Consultants across multiple client accounts; with the opportunity to develop skills in reporting, analysis and execution of digital marketing channels.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Ongoing and ad hoc analysis of multiple client accounts
  • Competitor analysis and keyword research on behalf of clients
  • Hands-on execution of campaigns across a number of platforms: including ad creation and updates, search term maintenance, keyword additions and bidding optimisation
  • Assisting with the delivery of performance marketing reporting using Practicology's reporting framework
  • Documenting processes and suggesting process improvements
  • Assisting with the scoping and implementation of new platforms

Required skills and experience

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Experience within a retail environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Analytical, with an eye for insights
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple and changing priorities
  • Highly organised, with excellent time-management skills
  • You must have eligibility to work in Australia

This is an entry-level digital marketing role, however we are particularly interested in applicants who are:

  • Familiar with Google AdWords and/or Google Analytics
  • Familiar with digital marketing concepts
  • Have a working knowledge on Excel
