SEO Specialist - Sydney

The Role

Practicology is searching for a Digital Marketing Specialist and SEO guru to join our growing Organic Marketing team. Reporting to our Head SEO Consultant, you will be the subject matter expert on all current SEO in our Sydney office ensuring that the latest best practices and guidelines are up-to-date in the business. With the ever changing search landscape in addition to the exciting challenge of managing and working on a multitude of client varieties, this role is open to an individual who relishes in being able to develop new approaches and think out of the box to execute SEO best practices.

Key Responsibilities

    • Defining and executing SEO strategies across client websites including providing competitor insights, on and off-page technical audits and implementation troubleshooting.
    • Managing end-to-end optimisations include meta data, content, on-page technical, site architecture, link hygiene, site speed and more. 
    • Working closely to our content team to amplify content strategies and provide on-page optimisation recommendations. 
    • Provide regular data insights to help identify new opportunities for traffic growth. 
    • Manage relationships with clients and developers in implementing recommendations.
    • Oversee monthly and quarterly reports.


Skills and Experience

    • 3+ years in SEO (experience in retail preferred).
    • Agency experience is preferable.
    • Strong technical knowledge including performing on-page technical audits and troubleshooting canonicalisations, URL structures, site architecture, sitemaps, robots.txt and redirects.
    • Strong HTML and Website Architecture knowledge.
    • Experience with relevant SEO tools required to execute a strategy (aHrefs, SEMRush, AWRCloud, Screaming Frog etc.)
    • CMS knowledge (Magento, Shopify, Silver stripe, WordPress etc.)
    • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • Strong knowledge of Google Analytics and Search Console and data analysis (certifications are a bonus).
    • Strong client-facing, presenting and communications skills and was as time management and organisation.
    • Understanding of Google algorithm updates and experience/knowledge in handling penalties.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Consultant - London

The Role

As Practicology grows, the UK organisation has identified the need to grow the internationally experienced consulting team, looking for:

  • Honours degree graduate with c1-2 years’ experience working in a multichannel or ecommerce team with experience of US markets.
  • Strategic thinker with a commercial focus
  • Someone who combines analytical and data processing skills, with the flair of a creative thinker
  • The ability to pull together persuasive presentations that are visually arresting

As a consultant, you will be expected to have the ability to see how the customer experience at the front end needs to be consistent as they move from one touchpoint to another, and you also see how different business functions need to join together to create customer excellence. 

Day-to-day life as a consultant in Practicology is hugely varied. Consultants work on project teams that form, and reform with different team members depending on the scope and requirements of the project. You may be researching the state of ecommerce in the West Coast of the USA one day, and pulling together examples of best practice Social CRM, or being asked to improve ways of working across a marketing and ecommerce team the next.

The role suits people who have depth of experience in one particular ecommerce discipline, but with a thirst to work cross-functionally and broaden their experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement best-in-class ecommerce offerings.
  • Collaboration with systems integration partners and 3rd party developers to develop websites and A/B testing plans to drive conversion on global websites.
  • Supporting the Marketing and Trading department with extensive knowledge of the US market to support the base of US clients
  • Conceptualising new designs and enhance brands identity, maintaining global brand guidelines across all digital and print creative touch-points.
  • Preparation, management and analysis of ecommerce weekly trade reports including sales turn analytics and KPI trending analysis.
  • Complex data analysis and research in a number of different areas, with a focus on the US market.
  • Analyse and forecast patterns in research data between the United States and South Pacific regions.
  • Develop extensive analytics tables to effectively track patterns and data through given time frames.

Skills and Experience


Minimum one year of multichannel or ecommerce experience – ideally both, gained in a fashion organisation that services the US markets

Demonstrable knowledge of US retailing/etailing

Demonstrable knowledge of being able to analyse and interpret an ecommerce P&L, and build a business plan

BSc/BA in Marketing, Fashion or Business Management/Administration


Expert in MS Office, particularly Excel for data processing, and PPT for client presentations

Knowledgeable in CX disciplines and tools, including multivariate testing

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
