Antony began his life in physical retail stores with a family shop from 1923 and kick started his career as a management trainee for Marks & Spencer. He went on to complete a Graduate Finance Trainee scheme with Sainsbury’s the following year. From there he worked his way up to the role of Commercial Planning Manager at M & S before moving to Dixons Carphone PLC, joining as Head of Finance for E-Commerce and Retail Operations and leaving as Commercial Finance Director.
Antony has extensive commercial planning and business planning expertise within larger retailers and during his time at Practicology. He gained his training prowess during a spell at a Retail, Ecommerce and Digital Consultancy where he developed training programmes for the likes of the British Library IP and Business centre and launched several ecommerce websites. He was also Board Advisor at SmartWeaveStore.com before joining Practicology, 19 years on (and many achievements later) from where it all began.
Antony holds a BSc (Hons) in Retail Management from Loughborough University. He also has a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA) qualification under his belt, wrote and developed the UK government backed Digital High Street Skills programme and is author of “The Retail Handbook”.
