Hotel Chocolat is the leading multichannel luxury chocolate retailer in the UK. Though it was already seeing impressive expansion across all sales channels, the business felt its ecommerce platform was limiting the growth and development of the overall brand proposition, and particularly international expansion. It wanted a platform that would support its future plans.
Practicology approached the challenge of Hotel Chocolat’s new platform selection initially with a requirements gathering process; spending time with the brand and its team, with workshops to establish what Hotel Chocolat really needed its platform to be doing.
Using a unique scorecard system, Practicology was able to first weigh up which available platforms fitted the client’s requirements; and then create a request for proposal (RFP) to be sent out to all of the potential platform suppliers.
Following this, the shortlisted platform suppliers submitted proposals to Hotel Chocolat, outlining their methods and allowing the brand – with Practicology’s support – to compare and ultimately decide on the most suitable platform for its needs.
Practicology continued to work with Hotel Chocolat once the platform selection process was complete, in order to support its transition between platforms.
