Martin Newman founded Practicology to address a gap in the market after a long career in retail, and he chairs the global business today. He is focused on thought leadership, business development and relationship building with clients around the world.

He has been involved in multichannel retailing for over 25 years, and had profit and loss responsibility for retail, direct mail, ecommerce, kiosks and call centre channels for a number of retailers including Ted Baker, Harrods, Pentland brands (Speedo, Kickers, Boxfresh etc) Burberry and Intersport.

Regularly quoted in the press on a broad range of topics impacting retailers and consumer brands, Martin has also spoken at many major business conferences and events including World Retail Congress, Retail Week Live, Global Ecommerce Leaders Forum, Etail Europe,, Seamless Asia, iMedia Online Retail Summit and Sun Capital's global portfolio conference.

Outside of Practicology, Martin Newman is a Non-Executive Director for UK fashion retailer White Stuff. Martin also serves as a member of the KPMG/Ipsos Retail Think Tank, which publishes an independent quarterly outlook for the retail industry. He has previously been an Advisory Board member to online retailer Wiggle.
